About Me

I’m a freelance journalist who has written hundreds if not thousands of pet stories.

Each day I get around 300 press releases so I know what makes a journalist open one and what will end up in the bin.

I write about animals each week for national newspapers, magazines and websites and have an award winning blog.

And I’ve already helped hundreds of pet brands, pet professionals, rescues and charities share their stories.

"I've just completed Rachel's PR course which was fantastic. Before starting the course I was nervous about approaching journalists and working with the media but, I learnt so much about what they are looking for which was fantastic. I feel comfortable working with the media now all thanks to Rachel who gave me the opportunity to have a practice interview with a lovely journalist. I had several successes during the course and I'm looking forward to lots of media coverage in the future now I have learnt how to write great pitches and press releases. Before hiring a PR company, I would recommend taking this course because you are able to do it yourself. Thanks so much Rachel"

"Thanks so much Rachel for all your support and advice. Before the course I only had a vague idea of what to do. I knew that I had to be out there but saying what? I didn’t have a clue what a journalist would want or if they would even speak to me. Now I have this knowledge. The course gave lots of practical advice and I had the chance to meet and chat to various journalists about stories. I have even managed to be on ITV with my charity woodland idea. If I hadn’t had the knowledge of how this would work out and what to have ready, it would have been a wasted opportunity. But the best thing to have come out of doing the course is the camaraderie from the others and of course Rachel. We also went over our business stories regularly. This builds confidence and so when you do it for real, it’s not a problem. Thanks Rachel, learning was so much fun and I am going to keep working at it."

Find out

What journalists really are interested in when it comes to pet stories. We'll explore the different stories you already have in your business that you might never have thought were newsworthy.

You'll learn

How to approach journalists with a pitch or press release that is interesting and newsworthy. This is the key mistake most business owners make - journalists want stories - not fluff about how great your business is.

The result?

You'll think like a journalist, build relationships, keep coming up with story angles meaning you'll be able to get press coverage worth hundreds and even thousands of pounds over and over again.

"Before the course I was worried I would not approach people the right way and that I hadn’t got anything interesting to say. But you have changed my mindset totally. I’m more confident and have much more of a clue on how to approach journalists and try to get interest in my pitches. One of the most useful things was talking to all our guests, it helps the nerves and increases confidence. The interview with Suzanne was great for that and was a very positive experience. The most helpful thing was your support, knowledge and expertise. Knowing I could email or message you when I needed advice was so very valuable and amazing. It was all incredible Rachel. Without you and this course I'd still be sitting looking at my website wondering how to get people to visit it! "
